In 2027 the Chaturthi runs from 5:52 pm on Monday 18 October to 4:43 pm on Tuesday 19 October, India time. Delhi's moonrise on Monday 18 October is 7:35 pm, inside it, so Karva Chauth in India is Monday 18 October.
Sydney and Melbourne are the rule's other case. There the Chaturthi runs from 11:22 pm on Monday 18 October, after that evening's moonrise, to 10:13 pm on Tuesday 19 October, before the next one, so neither moonrise falls in it. For that case the rule takes the second day: Tuesday 19 October.
Auckland: by the local clock the Chaturthi begins only at 1:22 am on Tuesday 19 October, and holds that evening's moonrise, so the fast there is Tuesday 19 October.
